This is a very small restaurant buried in a strip mall. It can be a challenge to find, but worth it to come. While this is not my favorite sushi place on the island, but it very good and highly recommend to come. My tip would be to order your sushi in waves so that the fish does not warm up. I ordered the sushi platter and was savoring a bit too long and some of the fish did not taste as fresh at the end. I recommend making reservations and sitting at the sushi bar. Appetizers: fried baby octopus were crunchy and full of flavor and highly recommend. The medley of mushrooms were delicious! The flavor profile on the mushrooms were unlike anything I ate before. Sushi: ordered the sushi platter and it was gorgeous! The fish portions are quite generous and the textures. I was also able to ask for some sushi to be removed. I don't like uni (sea urchin) and tamago (egg) sushi. They removed and I was happy. Again eat your sushi fast for the ultimate freshness. Service: fast and excellent Bathroom cleanliness: average, there is one tiny bathroom in the other part of the restaurant. Restaurant cleanliness: bar area was very clean

Went yesterday for lunch with the family, our first time here. Everything we ordered was delicious. The waitress was knowledgeable, very nice and attentive. Will be coming back again!

The food is excellent! The fish is always fresh and prepared in a variety of ways. Besides sushi, there are delicious side dishes and appetizers from which to choose. The sake, beer and wine menu is extensive with a wide range of prices. The service has always been excellent! The ambience is casual and comfortable. There is counter space and tables for large groups and families. Upon request Sushi-Ii can reserve the entire restaurant if you wish to host a private event.

Didn't realize I visited this restaurant 9 years ago! It is still very good, although prices definitely, as expected, much higher now. The squid legs dish was delicious. I have no qualm in recommending it, but be forewarned that it was kind of overpriced; I guess one gets what he/she pays. Didn't realize they charge $1.00 for parking in the old Samsung Plaza.

What an incredible Omakase experience! The nigiri was the best we've ever had, although it was on the expensive side, it was definitely worth it. Their fish is fresh and served at the perfect temperature. We were each served about 15 pieces and the chef explained each one to us. It seems like most of their fish is sourced from Japan. I would advise making reservations in advance. We will be back to try other menu items.

My go to place for sushi when friends and family visit the island. Make sure you make reservations cause it's always busy. Service is always friendly and attentive. Fish is high quality and real fresh. Pleasant, soothing ambiance like a place in Tokyo.

Ordered to go. Was looking for spider rolls and the reviews brought me here and they were the best I've had yet! Also got a California roll. Both rolls were too notch, they were $20 a roll. The inside is small but I like that you can see the sushi bar. The place was already full 30 minutes past their opening. There is a small lot there was an attendant, I told them I was just picking up and they said I should be good they give 20 min free. Be nice to the attendant because I heard most people haven't been to friendly.

Had a birthday dinner here tonight with my wife (her birthday), and it was great! We didn't order too much as we weren't as hungry as we both thought we'd be but everything we did order was delicious. We started off with the ahi tataki salad (refreshing) and ama ebi miso soup (the WHOLE ama ebi head included gave it that extra flavor). Then we had the sushi moriawase combo (variety of nigiri and tekka maki) and the rainbow roll (California roll with 5 different fishes on top). To end the meal, I had the ama ebi nigiri. You're probably wondering why 4 starts instead of the full 5 stars right? Well unfortunately they were sold out of the "hotaru ika" and "chuutoro", both from the seasonal menu. I really wanted to sample them but either I gotta get there earlier than 5:30pm or... check out another sushi joint to satisfy my craving. Oh and if you're wondering, they don't do anything special if it's a birthday meal. Overall, great experience. My wife enjoyed her birthday meal. We'll be back. Check em out!

This has been on my list since I first arrived to Honolulu last year! Glad I was finally able to experience their menu items. Their seasonal fish list is superb and unique, you wont find it anywhere else. I highly recommend ordering by piece and choosing the ones you like (vs. getting the omakase) so you can get other appetizers like I did! Here were the things on my menu: --Nigiri-- Tai - had to try because of the name Kanpachi Kinmedai - my favorite out of all of them. Akamutsu - second favorite Toro - always a must Scallop mayo Hotate - sweet and soft --Rolls-- Negi Toro - would recommend if you're still hungry Salmon skin roll - didn't stand out too much; I would skip next time --shareables-- - Hamachi Kama - aka yellowtail collar bone. A must order item! So much meat and the crispness and flavor of the skin make this a winner - Bone Marrow Eggplant - a popular item that lives up to the title. Must order! - Chicken Karage - not your typical karage. This was like chicken tenders with crispy and flakey skin. Was good but I would skip next time Cant wait to come back to reorder some items and try other fish from their seasonal list

Love this place! Fish is always fresh and delicious! Don't ask me about their rolls, I don't think that's real sushi lol. I eat the good raw stuff that's not covered in sauces like O toro, hamachi, uni, ikura, ama ebi, etc. this is my top 3 sushi spots in Hawaii. Clean restrooms and validated parking in front. I definitely recommend Sushi II
